This is the inspiration for each piece of art Masterpiece Creations Art Gallery owner, Dina Russo a life-long resident of Pittsburgh, creates. She is a graduate of the former Art Institute of Pittsburgh where she received a Specialized Technology degree in Visual Communication. Over the course of the past 40 years, she has excelled as a Graphic Designer, Art Director, Pre-Press manager, Publisher and Fine Artist.    

Her medium of choice is oil on canvas using a palette knife, which creates texture, life and movement.

“God and the beauty that surrounds us influence my art. I also feel to the extreme, which allows my emotions and experiences to transfer to my work. It comes from deep inside the sub conscience and onto the canvas. I put my vulnerability as a human being on canvas and share it with the world, my pain, happiness, sadness, etc.  I never know which piece of work will touch somebody or make him or her feel connected to my art because it comes from inside me, through me and comes to life right in front of me. After the piece is done and on display the viewers feelings take over from there.

I want to create work that touches the human soul. Each piece has something in it that viewers can relate to, whether they realize it or not. Art is beautiful and I want my pieces to portray that. Art breathes life.”
